Alternatively, you can take the High-Speed Rail (HSR) from Taoyuan to Zuoying (Kaohsiung) and then transfer to a train to Taitung.

From Taipei: You can take a train from Taipei Main Station to Taitung. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes to 5 hours and 25 minutes.

Alternatively, you can fly from Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) to Taitung Airport (TTT), which takes about 1 hour.
